GV comments: I can get into a rut when it comes to fruit desserts. I end up making fruit crisps a lot, because they're a lot easier and more reliable than pies. This buckle is a great alternative to crisps, so when the bumper crops of July deliver massive quantities of berries at great prices, I find myself including this recipe in the rotation. One of the great things about it is that it can be served as a coffee cake at breakfast or as a dessert after dinner (or both!). It is great alone or with vegan ice cream.
Timing: Almost two hours, start to finish, including over an hour of baking
