These go super-well with veggie burgers, either homemade or store-bought. Your family will think they’re getting burgers with fries, but you'll know they’re getting very healthy food.
Serves 2-3 people
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Toss yam sticks with oil and salt. Spread them out evenly on a half sheet tray (I line the tray with parchment or foil for easy clean-up and to prevent sticking. If multiplying the recipe, use a separate sheet tray for each yam.
- 1 large sweet potato or yam, peeled and cut into ¼ thick fries
- 1 tablespoon olive or canola oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Bake for 15 minutes then flip fries with a spatula. Rotate pan and bake for another 10-15 minutes until nicely browned and crisp looking.
You can experiment with spices, e.g., 1 teaspoon Cajun spice
