GV comments: I was very skeptical about trying a raw cranberry relish for Thanksgiving. But my friend Nancy, one of the best home cooks I know, prodded me to try it. It was an epiphany! While I'll still make and love cooked cranberry sauce, this raw relish is so good. The tartness of the cranberries is a different kind of tartness from cooked cranberries. It's definitely worth a try, and it's a tiny time investment -- 10 minutes! You can use clementines instead of oranges, walnuts instead of pecans, and I don't use 1 cup of sugar -- closer to 1/2 cup.
Timing: Very fast -- about 10 minutes. And it can be made a day or two ahead, which is perfect for the Thanksgiving rush.
Nutrition: Mostly whole-food
